Shawn Chorney is a proud northerner who believes that great things happen in small communities. With an undergraduate degree from Laurentian University and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, , and as an employee of Canadore College, he is passionate about the power of postsecondary education in community-based settings. After beginning his college career at Northern College, Chorney joined Canadore College as campus life director and now serves as vice-president of enrolment management, indigenous and student services. He is honoured to have the occasion to volunteer with the Nipissing Parry Sound Business Centre as President, North Bay Downtown Inc. as Co-Chair and for the United Way of Nipissing-Sudbury. Shawn is a 2015 alumnus of the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference and is the beaming father of 4 children.
