Dr. Clayton Smith

Dr. Clayton Smith is associate professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor. Previously, he completed two terms as vice-provost at the University of Windsor and held senior enrolment management positions at SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill, Tallahassee Community College, and University of Maine at Augusta.

Dr. Smith holds the Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science, from the University of Southern Maine, the Master of Arts degree, in Political Science, from Drew University, the Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Maine, and the Doctor of Education degree, in Higher Education, from Florida State University. Smith also completed the Senior University Administrators’ Course through the Centre for Higher Education Research and Development at the University of Manitoba.

Active professionally throughout his career, Smith currently serves on the College & University, Journal of Student Affairs Research & Practice, and Journal of International Students editorial boards, and serves the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers as director of the Strategic Enrollment Management Conference, and senior consultant.

Dr. Smith’s research interests include comparative strategic enrollment management, internationalization, and student success.
